Cebu City, Philippines – Senator Bong Revilla experienced a close call on Friday, March 28, 2025, when the helicopter he was traveling in made an emergency landing in a town in Cebu. The incident occurred around 4:00 PM.
Revilla and his team were en route to the airport to catch a flight to Iloilo City after attending campaign rallies in various Cebu towns. However, their journey was interrupted when a kite string became entangled in the helicopter's rotor.
In a Facebook Live video, Revilla recounted the incident: “We had an emergency landing here in Cebu. I was supposed to be on my way to the airport, and then this happened. Someone was flying a kite, and thankfully we didn't crash. We were so lucky. At least we're safe. We managed to make an emergency landing.”
The helicopter landed in a wide-open area, allowing the pilot to safely remove the entangled kite string. After the string was removed, they continued their flight to the airport. Revilla expressed his gratitude to the landowner who allowed them to land on their property.
Revilla admitted that everyone on board was understandably nervous during the incident. He also expressed his thanks to the pilot for their skill and calm response to the situation.
The incident occurred during the ongoing local election campaign period, with Revilla participating in rallies across Cebu. Despite the emergency landing, he successfully caught his flight to Iloilo and participated in a campaign rally there.
Congresswoman Lani Mercado, Revilla's wife, spoke about the incident, expressing her relief that her husband was safe. She revealed that she was supposed to be in Cebu but a last-minute schedule change led to Revilla going instead. She noted the challenging weather conditions in Cebu, with strong winds. She also emphasized that the helicopter was relatively new and the pilot was highly skilled, contributing to the safe emergency landing.
Mercado highlighted the inherent risks involved in frequent travel between campaign rallies, especially given the recent helicopter incident involving Senator Bato dela Rosa. She stressed the importance of caution and preparedness for such situations.
Senator Revilla and his team are safe and unharmed, underscoring the importance of safety precautions during this busy campaign season. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential hazards faced by candidates during their campaign travels.

I don’t think I ever really gave myself time to process, I just shifted into “act now, feel later” mode. Mastectomy/reconstruction done in January. Chemo started in March. And yes, this whole time I’ve been working, trying to keep my life and routine as normal as possible, and also, because I can. (Hello, if you’re new here, my name is Cesca and I am extremely hardheaded and stubborn, it’s really endearing once you get used to it.😘🤣)I wanted to keep this quiet, but there was no point in hiding it anymore once I started losing my hair. (That pixie cut lasted 2 1/2 weeks until my hair started falling out in clumps.🤦🏻♀️ I decided to just shave it off, I have a wig ready for work purposes, and a growing collection of scarves and turbans.)But enough about me. This is really meant to be a tribute to a support system that has gone above and beyond for me despite my best attempts at downplaying what I’m dealing with. Not everyone or everything has a photo. My circles have made their presence felt in so many ways and the support has been overwhelming. I wish I could list it all down, but my original caption was way too long.Thank you for showing me I don’t have to go through this alone.Thank you for praying so hard for me that I can actually feel myself being held up by prayers.Thank you to the people who have given me grace and time to do what I need to do.Thank you to the ones who respected me enough to leave this as my story to tell, because my story is far from over. I’ve got things to do, places to see, mountains to climb, and love to give back.😉 God is good. Always.PS: Early detection is key. You really never think it could happen to you until it does, so please stay on top of your check-ups.♥️
Litton described December as a "whirlwind" of medical tests and consultations after doctors found something concerning. A biopsy later confirmed that she had breast cancer. Instead of letting the news overwhelm her, she immediately shifted into action mode.
"I don’t think I ever really gave myself time to process," she admitted. "I just went into 'act now, feel later' mode."
By January, she had already undergone a mastectomy (surgical removal of the breast) and reconstruction. In March, she began chemotherapy, one of the most challenging parts of her treatment.
At first, Litton wanted to keep her diagnosis private. But when chemotherapy caused her hair to fall out in clumps, she realized it was time to speak up.
"That pixie cut lasted two and a half weeks until my hair started falling out in chunks," she shared. Rather than wait for it to thin further, she decided to shave her head. She now wears wigs for work and has started collecting stylish scarves and turbans.
Despite her initial reluctance to open up, Litton expressed deep gratitude for the people who have stood by her—family, friends, and colleagues who refused to let her downplay her struggle.
"Thank you for showing me I don’t have to go through this alone," she wrote. "Thank you for praying so hard for me that I can actually feel myself being held up by prayers."
She also thanked those who gave her "grace and time" to focus on her health, acknowledging that recovery is not just physical but emotional as well.
Litton made it clear that she’s not letting cancer define her future. "My story is far from over," she declared. "I still have things to do, places to see, mountains to climb, and love to give back."
She also took the opportunity to remind everyone—especially women—to prioritize their health. "Early detection is key," she stressed. "You really never think it could happen to you until it does, so please stay on top of your check-ups."
As soon as Litton shared her post, an avalanche of support poured in from fans and fellow celebrities.
Former actress Jackie Forster encouraged her, saying, "You got this, beautiful. Always remember that the big C is Christ."
Influencer Chesca Garcia wrote, "Love you, Woman! We are all here for you!"
TV host Bianca Gonzalez added, "You are so incredibly strong. Thank you for your vulnerability and spunk. Praying for you."
While chemotherapy can be grueling, Litton’s positive attitude and strong support system are helping her face the challenge head-on. Her message is clear: cancer may be a part of her life right now, but it won’t stop her from living fully.
Her bravery in sharing her story not only raises awareness but also serves as an important reminder—regular check-ups save lives.

Kim Soo-hyun Breaks Silence on Dating Allegations with Late Actress Kim Sae-ron
Seoul, South Korea – South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has spoken out for the first time after weeks of silence following allegations that he had dated the late actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor. The Queen of Tears star held a press conference earlier today, where he denied the accusations and defended his stance amid growing public scrutiny.
The controversy erupted on social media, leading to a wave of backlash against the actor. Many of his brand endorsements have since dropped him in response to the allegations. Facing mounting pressure, Kim Soo-hyun addressed the public, acknowledging his initial reluctance to speak out.
“I consider myself a coward. I have always been too preoccupied with holding on to what I have. I couldn’t even trust the goodwill that came my way, always fearing loss, harm, and running away, denying everything. That’s why it took me so long to stand here today,” Kim said in the press conference, as translated by Korean news site Korea JoongAng Daily.
Kim Soo-hyun admitted to having been in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron but clarified that it only began when she was of legal age. He expressed regret for previously denying the rumors, explaining that he did so to protect his then-ongoing drama, Queen of Tears.
The actor’s statement comes amid significant public debate over his alleged past relationship and the fallout it has caused. While some fans continue to support him, others remain skeptical, questioning the timing of his admission.
As the controversy unfolds, industry experts are watching closely to see how this will impact Kim Soo-hyun’s career and future projects. Meanwhile, his agency has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter.
South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has further addressed the allegations surrounding his past relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron, breaking his silence in a press conference. Amidst ongoing controversy, the Queen of Tears star clarified his stance and denied any involvement in her tragic passing.
“I hesitated every time, thinking about the impact my decisions would have on others. Whether [my decisions] would push everybody, including me, into trouble,” Kim stated.
He explained that while Queen of Tears was airing, he felt the weight of responsibility as its lead actor. “I had so much to protect. What would have happened if I had admitted to a yearlong relationship? What would happen to the actors, the staff who were working overnight, and the production team who had everything staked on that project? What would happen to our agency's employees?” he added.
Despite admitting to dating Kim Sae-ron, Kim firmly denied any connection to the actress’s passing. “It is not true that she made this tragic choice because of me or my agency pressuring her over a debt,” he maintained.
“We dated with good feelings, and after some time, we broke up. After that, we weren’t able to contact each other like we used to. Just like any other couple, contacting a lover after breaking up is a very cautious thing,” he explained.
Following the press conference, Kim Soo-hyun did not entertain any further questions and left the stage. His lawyer later announced that legal action is being taken against Kim Sae-ron’s family and a YouTube channel that originally uploaded the allegations.
“Kim has addressed the issue directly. Standing by his will, Kim Soo-hyun and Goldmedalist have requested the law firm explore both criminal and civil litigation to get the facts straight. We have filed a complaint against the family of the deceased and Hoverlab operators while filing a complaint on damages worth 12 billion won to the Supreme Central District Court,” the lawyer stated.
As of writing, the family of Kim Sae-ron has yet to release an official statement regarding the lawsuit or the press conference. The situation continues to develop as public scrutiny remains high.

Elizabeth Zimmerman Arrives in Netherlands to Visit Detained Ex-President Duterte
The Hague, Netherlands – Elizabeth Zimmerman, former wife of ex-Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte and mother of Vice President Sara Duterte, has arrived in the Netherlands amid plans to visit the detained former leader at the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facility in Scheveningen.
Vice President Sara Duterte earlier confirmed that her mother and brother, Davao City Representative Paolo Duterte, would travel to The Hague to see her father. However, as of Monday morning, no members of the Duterte family had been spotted at the ICC detention center. Only a handful of supporters were seen near the facility, where pro-Duterte gatherings were held over the weekend to mark the former president’s 80th birthday.
Rodrigo Duterte was arrested on March 11 upon arrival from Hong Kong following an ICC warrant issued as part of its investigation into his controversial "war on drugs" campaign, which resulted in thousands of deaths during his presidency (2016–2022).
The ICC warrant alleges that Duterte, as president, "created, funded, and armed death squads" responsible for the extrajudicial killings of suspected drug users and dealers. He was transferred to The Hague on the same day as his arrest.
On March 14, Duterte appeared before ICC judges via video link. A hearing to confirm the charges against him is scheduled for September 25, where he is expected to attend in person.
While Zimmerman’s arrival in the Netherlands signals an impending visit, no official schedule has been released regarding when she and Paolo Duterte will meet with the former president. The ICC detention center allows visits under strict protocols, but details on access for high-profile detainees remain confidential.
Over the weekend, a small group of Duterte supporters gathered near the detention facility, holding banners and celebrating his 80th birthday in a show of solidarity. The former leader remains a polarizing figure, with strong backing from loyalists despite the serious charges he faces.
The upcoming September hearing will determine whether the ICC proceeds with a full trial. If convicted, Duterte could face a lengthy prison sentence. Meanwhile, his legal team has repeatedly denied the allegations, calling the ICC’s actions politically motivated.
As the Duterte family prepares for their reunion, the world watches closely—a dramatic chapter in Philippine political history unfolding on an international stage.
