CALUBIAN, LEYTE – The Calubian Municipal Police Station, led by PCPT ALEXANDER C ALFONSO, Acting Chief of Police, successfully apprehended a suspected person who used drugs (PWUD) in Brgy. Ferdinand E. Marcos, Calubian, Leyte, on December 6, 2024.
The suspect, identified as alias "Boy," a 43-year-old jobless resident of Brgy. Gutosan, Calubian, Leyte, was caught in the act of using suspected illegal drugs by a responding officer from Calubian MPS.
The arrest was initiated following a report from the suspect’s father, who personally sought police assistance after witnessing his son allegedly sniffing suspected illegal drugs (shabu) at their residence in Brgy. Ferdinand, Calubian, Leyte.
Inventory, photography, and marking of the confiscated items, including suspected drugs and other evidence, were conducted at the scene in the presence of witnesses.
The suspect was informed of the charges against him and his constitutional rights in a language he understood. He was subsequently brought to the Calubian Municipal Police Station along with the seized evidence for appropriate legal action. A case for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) is being prepared for filing against the suspect.
