Announcement of Results
The much-anticipated results of the September 2021 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) were officially announced on November 29, 2021. This announcement marked a significant moment for many hopeful educators who had been awaiting the outcome of their efforts. The examination itself took place earlier in September, and the results were released within a timeframe of 47 working days post-examination. This delay in the results can be attributed to various factors exacerbated by the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Traditionally, the processing of examination results occurs more swiftly; however, the pandemic brought about unprecedented disruptions in many sectors, including education and testing. Examination bodies had to adapt to an ever-evolving situation, which included adjusting to health protocols and managing the logistics of conducting the examination while ensuring the safety of both participants and administration staff. The 47-working-day period for results publication reflects the extended time required due to these challenges.
Moreover, the announcement was made public through various channels, including official press releases and social media updates from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Such transparency aimed to keep examinees informed about the status of their results. It is important for candidates to understand that these results serve as a culmination of their dedication, perseverance, and preparation in their journey to becoming licensed educators. The resilience demonstrated by all parties involved in the examination process, including the candidates, educators, and governing bodies, is commendable, showcasing how the education sector has adapted in these trying times.
Statistics of Successful Examinees
The Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) conducted in September 2021 yielded significant results, reflecting the performance levels among aspiring educators. A total of 17,863 individuals registered for the examination, and among them, 10,318 successfully passed, resulting in an overall pass rate of 57.76%. This statistic is indicative of both the challenges faced by examinees and the effectiveness of preparation methods that were employed leading up to the examination.
Breaking down the statistics further, it is noteworthy that 9,286 of the successful examinees were first-time candidates. This group demonstrated a commendable pass rate, suggesting that first-time test-takers were well-prepared and able to meet the standards set by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). In contrast, the number of repeat examinees who passed was 1,032, a figure that highlights the persistence of those who have previously attempted the licensure exam. The difference in performance between first-timers and repeaters reveals trends that could inform future study strategies for those planning to retake the examination.
Moreover, analyzing data indicates that the pass rate for first-time examinees was significantly higher compared to repeaters. This reinforces the need for comprehensive review programs tailored specifically for individuals attempting the LET multiple times. It is essential for future examinees to consider these statistics when preparing for the licensure examination, as it may provide insights into effective methods of study and exam readiness. As prospective educators reflect on these results, the emphasis should also be placed on the importance of solid preparatory practices, which can offer a competitive edge in achieving success in the LET.
Exam Administration Amidst COVID-19
The Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) conducted in September 2021 presented unique challenges due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The primary concern during this administration was to ensure the safety and well-being of all candidates while maintaining the integrity of the examination process. Various health protocols were put into place, following guidelines from health authorities and relevant government agencies.
To achieve this, testing locations were carefully selected to optimize safety. Examination centers were chosen not only based on their capacity to accommodate candidates but also considering their compliance with health regulations. Several stringent measures were implemented, including social distancing protocols, mandatory mask-wearing, and temperature checks at entry points. Additionally, applicants were encouraged to bring their own sanitization supplies, such as alcohol and hand sanitizers, to further enhance hygiene during the examination.
The decision-making process behind the adjustments to the examination format involved multiple stakeholders, including education policymakers, public health officials, and the professional regulatory board. They analyzed various scenarios to assess the potential risks associated with administering the exam in a traditional format versus alternative arrangements. As a result of this comprehensive assessment, modifications were made to ensure that the LET could proceed with minimal health risks.
Furthermore, communication with examinees played a crucial role in easing concerns about health safety during the test. The regulatory bodies issued clear guidelines and updates leading up to the exam date, emphasizing the importance of compliance with health protocols throughout the examination process. This proactive approach helped in fostering a sense of security among candidates and ensured that they were well-informed about the measures in place to protect their health during this unprecedented examination period.
Testing Locations for the September 2021 LET
The September 2021 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) was conducted across various locations in the Philippines to ensure accessibility for aspiring educators. A total of 26 testing locations were strategically selected, allowing examinees from diverse geographical areas to participate without excessive travel burdens. This approach aimed to promote equitable access to the examination while catering to the needs of all candidates, regardless of their region.
Among the prominent testing centers was Bacolod City, recognized for its excellent facilities and capacity to accommodate a significant number of examinees. Similarly, Baguio City served as a vital location, attracting candidates from the northern regions, thanks to its accessibility and conducive environment for testing. Davao City also stood out as a key site in Mindanao, providing ample space and resources to facilitate a smooth assessing process for those seeking to become licensed educators.
Other notable testing locations included Metro Manila, where various public and private institutions served as venues, reflecting the area's vast population of prospective teachers. Regions such as Central Luzon and the Visayas were well represented, ensuring that examinees from these areas did not have to travel far from their homes to take the examination. Locations like Iloilo and Cebu were also designated as testing sites, highlighting the commission's commitment to reaching all corners of the nation. Through a thoughtful distribution of testing centers, the organizers aimed not only to ease logistical challenges but also to uphold the integrity and efficacy of the LET.
This strategic placement of testing locations contributes significantly to the overall success of the examination process, providing a fair opportunity for all candidates to showcase their skills and knowledge in aiming for a teaching license.
Cancellation of Examinations in Certain Areas
In the context of the September 2021 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), significant measures were implemented regarding the administration of examinations to ensure the utmost safety of candidates in light of the ongoing health crisis. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the cancellation of the examinations in several key locations, specifically Manila, Butuan, Lucena City, and Romblon. These decisions were taken with great care and consideration, prioritizing the health and safety of the examinees, as well as the officials involved in the examination process.
The rationale behind the cancellations was fundamentally rooted in the recommendations put forth by the Department of Health (DOH) in conjunction with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID). These authorities closely monitored the prevailing public health situation, which included rising COVID-19 cases and heightened community transmission rates in the aforementioned areas. Adhering to the health protocols established by these organizations was critical in mitigating the risks associated with large gatherings, such as examination events.
Health safety protocols include, but are not limited to, adhering to social distancing measures, enforcing the use of face masks, ensuring proper ventilation in examination venues, and conducting regular sanitization procedures. However, in light of the local conditions, the decision to cancel the LET examinations was deemed a necessary precautionary step. Subsequently, affected candidates faced uncertainty regarding their future plans, but supportive measures and alternative scheduling will be discussed by the PRC to accommodate them appropriately.
Such cancellations, though understandably disappointing for candidates looking forward to taking the examinations, underscore the overarching priority being placed on health and safety as it pertains to public gatherings in the current environment. Further updates regarding rescheduling and examination logistics will be provided by relevant authorities to ensure candidates are well informed moving forward.
The Role of the Professional Regulation Commission
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) plays a crucial role in the administration of the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in the Philippines. Established to regulate various professions, the PRC is responsible for ensuring that the quality of professional education meets national standards. It oversees the entirety of the licensure process for teachers, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the profession and ensuring the competence of those entering it. By implementing stringent regulatory measures, the PRC helps maintain public confidence in the teaching profession.
The PRC's responsibilities encompass a broad range of functions related to the administration of the LET. This includes formulating policies, monitoring the examination process, and evaluating the qualifications of professionals entering the education sector. To achieve this, the Commission collaborates with the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT), which is tasked with developing policies and guidelines that align with the national educational framework. The BPT also plays an essential role in crafting relevant examination content, evaluating applicants, and ensuring that licensure requirements are met adequately.
The regulatory framework governing the LET dictates the standards for examination conduct, allowing for transparency and fairness. This involves various measures, such as establishing examination venues, supervising proctors, and implementing protocols for exam security. These standards are designed to eliminate any potential biases and to uphold the principles of equity and fairness throughout the examination process.
In addition, the PRC is committed to continuously improving the licensure examination process based on emerging trends in education. By engaging with stakeholders, including universities and the teaching community, it seeks to adapt effectively to changing educational demands. Through such efforts, the PRC ensures that the LET not only remains relevant but also prepares future educators to meet the challenges of the evolving educational landscape in the Philippines.
Impact of the Results on Future Educators
The results of the September 2021 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) have significant implications for aspiring educators in the Philippines. Successfully passing this examination not only validates the knowledge and skills of the examinees but also opens up a plethora of career opportunities in the education sector. For many fresh graduates, the LET serves as a crucial stepping stone to becoming licensed professional teachers, a requirement for most public school positions and a key factor in private institutions’ hiring processes.
Achieving licensure enhances an individual's employability and professional credibility. Teachers who have passed the LET are often viewed as more qualified candidates due to their demonstrated competence in pedagogical knowledge and methodologies. The licensure also allows teachers to continuously develop their professional profiles through various opportunities such as graduate studies, professional development programs, and specialized trainings, all of which may contribute to career advancement.
Moreover, being a licensed professional teacher holds substantial importance within the Philippine educational framework. The Department of Education has mandated that only those who are licensed may hold teaching positions in public schools. This regulation underscores the critical role of qualified educators in upholding educational standards and improving the quality of education in the nation. Consequently, the value of passing the LET extends beyond personal achievement; it plays a vital role in the overall enhancement of the educational system. Licensed teachers contribute to the development of competent, compassionate, and committed educators who are essential in addressing the diverse learning needs of students.
In light of these opportunities and the professional significance associated with passing the LET, it is imperative for future educators to recognize the importance of this examination in shaping their career paths. As they embark on their teaching journeys, the results of the September 2021 LET will undoubtedly serve as a foundation for their contributions to education in the Philippines.
Conclusion and Next Steps for Examinees
As the results of the September 2021 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) are announced, it is essential for examinees to reflect on the outcomes and plan their subsequent actions effectively. The examination is a pivotal event in every aspiring educator's career, and understanding the implications of the results can significantly influence their professional journey. Successful candidates can take pride in their achievements, knowing they have met the rigorous standards set by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
For those who passed the LET, obtaining the professional license is typically the next critical step. This process usually involves submitting the required documentation to the PRC, which may include a birth certificate, identification cards, and proof of passing the examination. It is advisable for examinees to familiarize themselves with the specific requirements outlined by the PRC to ensure a smooth application process. After securing their licenses, newly minted educators should also consider obtaining additional certifications or professional development courses to enhance their qualifications and marketability in the education sector.
Moreover, graduates should actively seek job opportunities within schools and educational institutions. Networking with peers and educators in the field can provide valuable insights into employment prospects. Participating in job fairs and using online platforms specifically tailored for educational job placements can further enhance their chances of landing positions in teaching or related roles.

REGISTRATION AND OATHTAKING
The schedule for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration for Elementary and Secondary level exams will be posted here once results are out online.
The requirements for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card (ID) are the following:
Notice of Admission (for identification only)
downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag)
two sets of documentary stamps
1 piece short brown envelope.
PRC said that successful examinees should PERSONALLY register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
The dates of the oathtaking ceremonies of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.
RELEASE OF RESULTS
According to PRC Resolution No. 1283 series of 2020, which deals with the 'Schedule of Licensure Examinations for Year 2021, the target release of September 2021 LET board exam results is on Friday, December 10 or in 52 working days after the test.
In the last teacher's board exam before the pandemic (September 2019), PRC released results in fifty (50) working days. A total of 28,973 elementary teachers out of 92,440 examinees (31.34%) passed the exams.
In the March 2019 LET, results were announced in forty-two (42) working days. PRC named 19,659 elementary teachers out of 72,054 examinees (27.28%) who hurdled the exams.
Due to several factors, we advise takers to monitor release of results starting November 8 (30 working days).
